Love This Morning
I fell in love this morning
it’s the first time that happened today,
I was on my way to work
and she was going my way
Suddenly I looked to the right
and into my life she came,
A vision of morning beauty,
but I didn’t even know her name
The Hills held her mystery
hidden in the Travis morning mist,
like a veil that shields the modesty
of a maiden’s tender lips kissed
Flowing waves of silken hair
touched her shoulders tenderly,
and dark mystic eyes,
Smiled knowingly back at me
We traveled a distance together
and though she never spoke a word,
It seemed the beating of my heart
- must easily be heard –
What exotic love affair
might we share one day?
On sandy beach, or mountain slope
- or hidden moonlit bay –
But as suddenly as it began
our love affair was ended,
With dreams dashed, and passions denied,
my future was left un-amended
For as I wondered, if our love
would stand the test of time,
She turned left in her car –
and I went straight in mine!
